Capacity Construct/Public Policy Senior Task Force

The Capacity Construct/Public Policy Senior Task Force (CCPPSTF) was created to conduct an assessment of the Reliability Pricing Model (RPM) in an effort to ensure potential state public policy initiatives and RPM objectives were not at odds. This group sought to identify both the characteristics of a well-functioning capacity construct, as well as potential public policy initiatives states could take regarding resource adequacy, fuel diversity, and public and environmental policies. Based on the identified factors, the group discussed whether modifications are required to RPM. This task force reported directly to the Markets and Reliability Committee (MRC) The group met many times over the course of a year to build a proposal that would receive group consensus. However, no proposals brought forth to the MRC were endorsed and therefore, this group has been retired.
